How to use it
Unfold the reformer, clip in the resistance bands and open the Alto app. The program starts at week one postpartum with breath work and micro-engagements, then progresses as you do. Most sessions run under 15 minutes and are done lying down, with your spine supported.
What's in the box
Alto foldable reformer, resistance band set, non-slip mat, grip socks, and your access codes for the 100+ session Postpartum Recovery Program and the Pelvic Floor & Diastasis Starter Guide.

The postpartum disconnect
Months after birth, the muscles are still there — the signal to them isn't. That's why the old workouts feel wrong, and why doing nothing feels worse.
You still look pregnant
The gap down your middle hasn't closed, and no amount of sucking in changes what you see in the mirror.
Everything leaks or aches
A sneeze, a jump, a laugh. Lower-back pain from carrying a baby on one hip all day.
You're scared to start
Nobody told you which movements are safe. So you wait — and another month goes by.
Why nothing worked
Bootcamp cores. Crunch-heavy apps. Studio classes that assume your pelvic floor is already back. None of it was designed for the six months after delivery — and some of it actively widens the gap you're trying to close.
Why Alto works
A reformer moves you along a guided track under light, even spring resistance. Your deep abdominals and pelvic floor fire together in sequence — the exact pattern that goes quiet during pregnancy — without ever loading your spine or your abdominal wall the way a crunch does.
01
Guided track, not free weight
The carriage holds the path for you. You can't fall out of alignment mid-rep.
02
Light springs, deep muscles
Low resistance reaches the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor, not the surface six-pack.
03
Lying down, spine supported
Most of the program happens on your back, with zero impact and zero pressure on the gap.
How it works

Step 1
Unfold it where you are
Living room, nursery, foot of the bed. It opens in seconds and slides back under the couch when you're done.

Step 2
Press play on today's session
The program starts at week one postpartum and progresses with you. Most sessions run under 15 minutes.

Step 3
Follow along, breathe, stop
Every movement is cued for pelvic floor and diastasis safety. Nothing to figure out on your own.
What to expect
Week 1–2
Reconnection. Breath work and micro-engagements. You feel the deep core switch back on — often for the first time since birth.
Week 3–4
Stability. Lower-back ache from carrying and feeding starts to ease. Standing feels less like effort.
Week 5–8
Strength. Sessions get longer and more tonic. Clothes sit differently. The gap keeps narrowing.
Week 8+
Yourself again. Not a pre-baby body — a body you trust. Lifting, laughing and moving without bracing for it.
Individual results vary with delivery type, starting point and consistency. Alto is not a substitute for clearance from your doctor or pelvic-floor therapist.

Is it safe if I have diastasis recti?
The program is built around it. Every session avoids crunches, planks and front-loading, and cues the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor to fire together — the pattern that helps a separation narrow rather than widen. Get clearance from your doctor or pelvic-floor therapist first.
How soon after birth can I start?
Most people are cleared around six weeks postpartum, and later after a C-section. Start once your provider clears you. The program's first phase is breath work and gentle reconnection, not exercise in the way you're picturing.
I had a C-section. Is this different for me?
The program has a C-section track that starts slower and avoids direct scar-area loading in the early weeks. You'll still be building the same deep-core connection, just on a longer runway.
How long until I see a difference?
Most people feel the reconnection within the first two weeks and notice everyday changes — less back ache, better posture — around weeks three to four. Visible change usually lands between weeks five and eight. This varies with delivery type and consistency.
How much space does it need?
About seven feet of clear floor to use, and almost none to store: it folds to roughly 34" × 24" × 6" and slides under a couch or bed.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Return it within 99 nights for a full refund. Recovery isn't a two-week project, so the window is long enough to actually find out.
